Programs & Services
Guilderhaven Inc. offers low-cost spay and neuter services to income-eligible individuals throughout Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer, and surrounding counties. We also support pet owners in need by providing essential food and supplies for their companion animals.
Our licensed wildlife rehabilitation specialist provides care for injured and orphaned wildlife species permitted under her license. If we are unable to care for a particular animal, we will assist in connecting it with the appropriate licensed rehabilitator.
While Guilderhaven is not a shelter or rescue organization, we do offer support with companion animal placement when circumstances require it.
Programs
Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Program
We provide affordable spay and neuter services to income-eligible individuals in Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer, and surrounding counties. This program is a core part of our mission to reduce companion animal overpopulation and prevent abandonment.
Wildlife Rehabilitation Program
Our licensed wildlife rehabilitation specialist offers care for injured and orphaned wildlife within the species covered under her certification. When needed, we assist in coordinating care with other licensed rehabilitators to ensure every animal receives proper treatment.
Services

While Guilderhaven is not a shelter or rescue organization, we do assist with companion animal placement when appropriate, helping connect animals in need with safe, responsible homes.
Jean, our wildlife rehabilitator, has taken in over 58 “critters” so far in 2025, including numerous squirrels, pigeons, rabbits, opossums, weasels, chipmunks, wood ducks and a fox.
